Episode 13: How to get more Engagement on your Marketing- Bonus Module from the Mastermind!

Hello. Hello, everybody, and welcome to a very special episode of the six Figure Systems podcast. In this episode, not only am I going to be talking to you about how to get more engagement on your marketing, but I'm also going to be sharing this because it is going to be a bonus in, uh, the six figure systems mastermind. So within the mastermind, I include lots of tips and tricks, not only the essentials and basic systems to get your business your first six figures in multiple six figures, but I also love to include just things that are really helpful tools and things like that that can help your business grow. And I know that many of you on the podcast might be thinking about joining the mastermind. So I wanted to show you a little behind the scenes tool that I teach my clients within the mastermind, and I want to give you guys access to this as well. So within this episode, what we're going to do is we're going to first talk about why posting and ghosting is minimizing your marketing impact. Then we're going to talk about a quick engagement tool that you can use called the 1010 method that you can use to help you get more engagement. And last but not least, I'm going to give you a quick preview of what's to come within the six figure systems mastermind. So within, uh, getting more engagement on your marketing, one of the things that I have found is that I see so many of my clients that take all in, myself included. When I first started my business, I would take sometimes a full day to write a post. And it was wonderful and fantastic. And I would really put a lot of thought, time and effort into that podcast. And what would happen is I would go to look and see how many people had liked the post, and it would be like zero likes, really. Until the beginning of 2024, I have had, like one or two likes on my, uh, posts, and that did not impact my ability to make multiple six figures. So I want to just give you a sigh of relief, if you will, to let you know that you do not need to have likes, you do not need to have comments. None of that is going to create. There's, they're not accurate indicators for creating a profitable, uh, business. However, I do think it is helpful to get more engagement on your posts and things like that. And that's why I wanted to teach you guys this quick tool. Today, my friend, um, um, Sharon posted about it and or shannon posted about it. My brain today, I, um, um, and I wanted to share it with you also. Apologies, y'all. I um, um. One of the amazing things about having an incredible business that has systems that can run the business for you while you're away, I'm a smidge jet lagged. I was actually just in lake Como, Italy with my mother. We actually went away for five days. So we literally left on Wednesday, came back Sunday night, and my brain still is just like in Italy time. So for me, as I record this, it is like two in the morning, which is awesome. So, apologies if there is a couple of, um, my brain, it's just like going a little slower today, but that might be happening. And such a benefit to having the work life balance of an entrepreneur, am I right? So, within this, when I see, coming back to the topic of the podcast, when we're talking about posting and ghosting, that's what I see a lot of people do. They think that they, if they write something that is quality and is something that is valuable for their audience, then it's going to get views, and that is not the case. So typically, when you're thinking about the Instagram algorithm and any algorithm for your social media marketing, what I found is that those algorithms want to prioritize engagement. They're called social media for a reason, and they want people to be social. They want people to be talking on there, they want people to be engaging on there. And so if you are posting at this point in time, AI, um, artificial intelligence has become so good that there are lots of bots on there, robot, um, programs that are created that can mimic human beings really well. And those typically posting ghost. And what happens is, if you are not engaging with people on social media, I've said it before, and I've said it again, the algorithms for any social media marketing are going to think that you are a robot and they will block you from social media. So we don't want that. And so what do we do to make sure that we don't post? And Ghost, as you guys know, I've spoken about it before. You want to make sure that you're talking with people and having direct message conversations with people. It is one of the fastest ways to grow your business. It's amazing to have that kind of, um, um, those conversations. It feels so authentic and genuine. And that is going to reward you within social media, for sure. Because the algorithm will say, hey, this person consistently, actually talks to their people. They are consistently collaborating and discussing things with their audience. They are definitely something that is a value add to our platform. And we want to make sure that we're continuing to promote them more and more. So first things first, I did a whole episode about that. I'll include the show notes here. That was all about how to engage with your audience in a beautiful, uh, and authentic way. So that's first things first. You want to do that first. But if you, after you talk with your people and are having those direct message conversations with them that help to nurture them and help them to be a part of your community, then what you want to do is you want to have another way that you can engage with the whole Instagram or any social media, um, algorithm so that it can see that you can engage with people afterwards and you're not just engaging with your audience. So the 1010 method is the way that, um, Shannon, my brain, um, Shannon McKenstream, I hope I'm saying your name right. Um, she is um, a friend of mine from um, Raleigh where I live. And when we met, she provides a lot of really amazing social, uh, media tips. She's actually a social media mentor and trainer. And I saw this post of hers and I was like, wow, this is amazing. It's a very quick method and I'm going to physically show you, if you watch this YouTube video back, I'm physically going to show you exactly how to you the 1010 method. So the 1010 method, it's actually really simple. So within it, you want to do ten minutes or engage with ten posts on your feed. Then you want to spend ten minutes engaging with stories and then you want to spend or just ten stories and then ten minutes engaging with algorithm with hashtags or do ten hashtags. So for me, you can think about the ten as minutes or you can think about the ten as the number of posts, stories or thumbs up to those fireworks or hashtags that you are going to be engaging with. Either way, I would absolutely create a system around that to create more engagement within your marketing. So as soon as you post, you want to do this 1010 method and again adopt this, adapt it or abandon it and change it so it fits your schedule and make sure that you can do something like this. So within the first piece, when we're talking about the ten minutes, um, engaging on your feed, this is what it looks like. So I'm going to share my screen. If you're watching the video, you can see it here. And this is my Instagram feed and I like to do things on my computer personally. I have ADHD, iPhones are addictive. I will spend hours scrolling and uh, spamming friends and family with funny reels and posts that I think are enjoyable and I won't forget everything I'm supposed to do. It's a lot less addictive, I have found on my desktop. So when I'm on my desktop, here's what I do. I will go in and you can see I've got all these posts. And what I'll do is I will actually go in and I will like, and I will post, comment on the post that shows the algorithm that I'm actually engaging. And it's really helpful to do that during the time that you're actually posting, because then it's like you're posting and engaging simultaneously. Wow, this person is really active. We like that. They are really active. Let's do more of this. So I like to say very, very simple things. And I just like, for me personally, I, uh, think keep it simple. And I copy and paste the exact things into, um, each person's, um, post. So I'll say something like, I love this. Like, that's. This is a funny, um, reel. This is just something that I'm following. I like to follow funny things. So you'll see my whole feed is like, either my clients or it's like friends and fam m or funny things. So I'll be like, I love this. This is great. And I'll post it on there. That's one of ten in my feed. Then my amazing client, Annabelle, I'll post on here and I'll be like, oh, my goodness, I love this. And that helps you. Now, when you're on your feed, you'll see things pop up at this stage of, um, at least Instagram. And it'll say sponsored. So we don't necessarily want to engage with sponsored posts. Then you'll get a ton from that particular advertisement. And that's not necessarily the goal of this. It's to create engagement with your actual, um, the people who are on your feed. So I'll go, and this is my friend, um, Christy. I'll be like, I love this. This is great. Um, I used to teach yoga, and so that's how we became friends. And so I'll go through and do that. This is hilarious. I was like, that's my post. So all those things, you can engage with your own posts. I don't typically, but it can't hurt. So you want to go through and you want to do ten of your feed posts and engage with them. Um, first, then you want to go to your stories and you want to click on the first story bubble and I'll be like, boom. I love this. Then my amazing client, Teresia. And what you can do is you can also include the, um, currently with Instagram, there are reactions, so you can do like a reaction like that. And that is really cool. Then you'll see that this is sponsored, so I'm not going to comment on that. You actually can't. But you want to make sure that you don't. Um, you just will get a lot of messages, uh, from them if you do. We want to focus on engaging with, um, with people like this. So we want to go. And I'll be like, I love this. And you want to go, um, through like that. So those are the things that you want to do for the stories you want to go through and do that. Last but not least, a really great way to do that is through hashtags. So you can do hashtag coaching is probably something that my people might be following. And then you're going to see different posts. Now, some of these posts are in a different language, and I do not, um, speak whatever language this is. So you might want to find a different hashtag that's in English, if English is your primary language, as you can see, lots of different languages, which is really exciting. What we want to do is we want to find ones that are in your language because you might say, I love this. And then you might read it back and you're like, oh, don't know if I love this. So we want to find some things that like, like, uh, small business, business owner. So that might be a good one for me. And these are people that I don't follow. So these are just random humans that posted and included the hashtag small business owner. And I'm looking at her post, and again, I want to read it just to be like, okay, I'm making sure that it is something, um. Um, something that is something I, like, somewhat agree with. I'm like, okay, this is like mythbusters. And I'm like, that's fun. Okay, cool. So I'll be like, love this. Cool. I don't know this person, but that'd be cool. Um, um, July bookings are now open for this, um, lash place. So I'm like, cool, love this. Awesome. And you want to find ten of these. Um, and I was like, I really do love this. I was like, that's wonderful. Thinking about where you would be in ten years if you were able to do consistent work. So proud. Okay, so that my friends, so simple. You saw me interact with at least just this is like the three, three, three method, but we want to be engaging with people. We want to create wonderful interactions with people, and we want to make sure that people actually are. If you are wanting likes and comments on your posts, we want to, um, give it back. We want to create that like, again, sorry, all the jet lagged brain, it's really getting me today. But you want to make sure that if you want those, um, likes and comments that you're giving them in return. So within, and one of the things that I have as this current iteration of the six figure systems mastermind is everyone in the mastermind, they join what I call an engagement group. So for within your social media, you can do that. The only thing that would be different about the 1010 method on, um, LinkedIn, if that's your social media of choices, they don't typically have stories. So you would just do, you could do 15 posts and you could do 15, um, hashtags. That would be another way you could augment that. TikTok has stories, YouTube, you might just have to go to feed posts, but that is a way that you can engage with more people on your marketing. Now, within the six figure systems mastermind, one of the things that I found to be really, really helpful is to have people engaging with your posts as well. So for this iteration in, the masterminds might change in the future, but I actually have a, um, a group message where all the people in the mastermind are part of it, and we go through and we like and we comment on each other's posts to help boost engagement for each other. So, and also just give really great feedback. Um, it's just helpful just to have other people look at your things. So that is something that I have in this current iteration of the mastermind could be changing, but that's a way that I want to help you guys grow your businesses. Now, within the. Speaking of the six figure systems mastermind, one of the things that I think, um, if you are considering getting more engagement on your marketing, having a plan for your marketing is critical. So within the mastermind, when I'm teaching you the essential systems, the first system that you would learn is how to create a solid offer. So we call it your six figure offer, and that's what you want to be doing. You want to create an offer that people would feel crazy not to buy. Like, you're like, this is such a no brainer. And you want to be able to get evidence that this works, create proof of concept for your people. So that would be the first thing that we would do. Then we go into marketing and you learn how to make a marketing calendar that aligns with that offer, and it creates organic search engine optimization or SEO, because I am a firm believer on a cheap and cheerful business. So that is the first thing that I, the second thing that you'll learn. The third thing I go over is a sales, uh, process that will help you convert more people so you can get more cons, you can convert more people with less consults. So that's the third thing that we go through. The fourth thing that we go through is how to manage leads. So the second, what I was talking about today is like, how to actually talk with people. How do you interact with people online? How do you actually have conversations that are fruitful instead of just small talk that doesn't lead anywhere, that's going to be day. The fourth thing that you will learn, and then within the last piece is you're going to learn how to plan. You're going to learn what metrics to track. If it's not the vanity metrics, if we're not going for more followers, what are the things that you're tracking that will help increase your, um, income over time? So just a heads, um, up, the six figure mastermind, enrollment is opening very soon. I'm m actually including a link so you can see all the information about it. But there are a couple of changes to the mastermind that I wanted to mention. So within the mastermind, I am a huge believer of live learning modules. I really enjoy teaching live. I used to be an elementary school teacher, and I love to make sure that, like, if you're like me and you have a somewhat busy life, that you don't have to take extra time outside of the actual calls to watch modules. You can learn it on the call and implement it in your own time. So for this iteration of the six figure systems mastermind, I am implementing what's called systems week, and it is going to be a systems boot camp. I'm so excited about this. And you are going to get all the systems in one week. So you're going to get on Monday, we're going to make your offer Tuesday, you're going to get your marketing calendar Wednesday, you're going to get your sales system Thursday, managing leads, Friday planning. And we're going to knock it all out on August 12 through 16th of, uh, 2024. Now, if you're listening to this later than August twice, 12th through 16, things might have changed. So I know that these are effective. I've seen them work time and time again for myself. Every single one of my clients that uses them, um, get insanely amazing results. So pretty awesome stuff there. Also, within this iteration of the mastermind, I'm still doing a one on one call where I'm going to take 60 minutes with you, just one on one, and we're actually going to sit down and make your profitable offer. This is something that is probably going to be leaving the mastermind soonish, but it is still something that I really feel passionate about doing, and I'm including as a bonus for this round of the mastermind. And then after that, on August 26, I think it's, the calls aren't going to be on Wednesdays from eleven to one eastern, but on Wednesdays from August all the way through February 26, I believe it is, you are going to be with me every single week for 2 hours, and we are going to be changing those systems.
